In the Rules of Professional Conduct, it says: The lawyer should also consult with the client and seek a mutually acceptable resolution of the disagreement. Doug does very little consulting. He bosses. He has little recognition that clients are experts in their circumstances and goals. As I would try to get him to consider something, he would quickly dismiss it with something like, “end of story.” He is constantly reminding you how he is the expert, yet he was losing about half my hearings even though I have a good case. He would regularly threaten withdrawing by saying things like, “If you don’t agree, I’ll withdraw." His ego also blinds him to creative solutions, which was greatly needed in our complex case. Doug and firm were slow at responding to questions and moving the case forward. When he dismissed himself from the case to the judge, he stabbed me in the back by telling the judge I swore at him and threatened him. He runs up your bill and only won about half the hearings.
disappointed
The first time I tried to contact him it took 4 calls and still no one from his firm answered. In our first meeting he was unprepared to discuss the simplest details of the trust.
My first meeting with Gretta Spendlove went great. She was very professional. I was told that my cost for her services for this particular case would be roughly $1500.00. I have now paid her $4300.00 and she has billed for an additional $7,158.00. I feel as though she has completely taken advantage of me.
Very busy lawyer with a team of very busy paralegals that don't seem to have time to take care of their clients. It's like pulling teeth getting any sort of response from them and it takes forever for any cases to be processed. If you can go with any other lawyer, I would recommend doing that instead.
He destroyed my child's father. Like did things that were not legal. He lied in court regularly. He is quite the jester. Always relying on his hope that fellow attorneys will not turn him in. Special place in Hell for you, dougie!
I sent an email describing an imminent immigration issue I was having and needed to meet Mr Wheelwright and another follow up email three days later. That was over a week ago and absolutely zero response to date.
Lets start this by saying the specific attorney, Kim Boyer, and her team of paralegals. Our documents always came full of many errors, they took months to get anything done, with many errors. I even had them deny receiving a package that I sent with a tracking number. The make a difficult situation (dementia of family member) even more difficult.
They suck, they want all your money but don't do a good job at representing you.
