Mr. Thayer represented me for 3.5 years in a complicated domestic case, out of which 2.5 years he has worked pro bono. He has genuinely looked out for my best interest as his client, and offered me the same high level of quality service when he represented me for free as when I was a paying client. He never mitigated my wishes to be “done with the case”, sparing no resources. I have nothing but good to say about his superior skills as a lawyer and the level of service I received.
The cost/benefits that I received from Durham Jones & Pinegar are invaluable.
The legal services that I received simply are impeccable and invaluable
We left our former law firm when they started billing us for the time spent by the Receptionist to transfer our phone calls, retrieve our files, etc. Mike Leavitt at DJ&P is an absolute gem! We have even received emailed answers to an urgent legal question on his weekend at no additional charge. If he needs to research a legal question, we are only billed for his time to complete the written reply, not his research time. DJ&P is a great value for competent legal representation!
Gretta understands the legal needs and obligations of small businesses in general, but also listens to our specific needs as owners who like to do things our own way. She has been a responsive and supportive professional resource to firm for more than 13 years.
Doug Thayer represented me in a taxing domestic case. I needed someone that could stand up for my rights, understand my needs, and help me make informed and good decisions moving forward. Doug was my advocate. Figuring out the legal system while trying to protect your children, can be difficult. I felt that his experience and guidance made things so much easier. His team is amazing. I felt they were invested in what was best for me. I highly recommend Mr. Thayer and his team.
Only interested in the money he earns for the hours he puts in - not the client. Does not keep his word. $13,000.00 was spent in a four month period and NOTHING was accomplished. I was left in the same situation I was in when I hired him. He then said he would do nothing more without another $5000.00 retainer and withdrew from my case without talking anything over with me.
My wife and I spent years in litigation with her high-conflict ex over joint custody. We eventually won—clarifying holidays, requiring 48-hour replies, and appointing a special master. Yet he ignored the order, refused to sign the agreement, respond, or allow her to pick up her sons for her Christmas holiday, which began on her son’s birthday. Hoping for better results, we hired Dentons, who said the violations were clear and easily proven. Despite costing triple, they were unprepared and ineffective. The case dragged six more months, during which her son was hospitalized in Panama for two surgeries without her being informed—another violation. At the hearing, Dentons wasted time on basic questions, ran out of time to question the ex, and failed to present convincing evidence. The judge dismissed contempt, emboldening him further. Dentons then pushed for more litigation and billed excessively—costing more in six months than our prior lawyer in three years.
This attorney says he tries to keep costs down by having his assistant and paralegal do much of the work, but by doing so, he is out of the loop not knowing what is going on. He has to spend hours bringing himself up to date before any hearings or communications, costing more than if he would have done the work in the first place. I have spent $20,000.00 in four months and nothing has been accomplished. He has little compassion or concern for his clients.
We hired this firm to help us with my husband's immigration to the US. The point of hiring a lawyer was so that mistakes would not be made with paperwork & so that it would flow more smoothly. They were forever telling us that they just needed "one more thing." It took a long time to get the papers filed & my husband's work visa did not come until one week before the green card came, leaving us without the ability for him to make an income for our family for one full year.
