Firm History

Goldberg Jones opened their doors January of 1996. Founding members Bill Goldberg and Rick Jones realized a need for husbands and fathers in the Seattle area to have a legal resource and a firm that would champion their rights in Divorce, custody, child support or other family law matters. Clients agreed! The Seattle office grew rapidly based on excellent results, personal referrals and marketing that spread the word that men now had an ally in the legal system. Kenneth Alan, Managing Attorney has been able to seamlessly handle the office's growth, yet maintain the direct client contact, accessibility and responsiveness that our clients value greatly.

It was not uncommon to get calls from prospective clients that were outside of the Seattle area but desirous of our services. So, in 1997, Goldberg Jones opened their Portland office. Just as with Seattle, Portland clients have been directly responsible for our consistent growth and reputation within the legal community. Tremendous credit also goes to the tireless efforts of Managing Attorney Colin Amos, whose leadership by example has created a culture of success and a team of attorneys that is unparalleled in Portland.

Opening the San Diego office proved to be an easy task with Managing Attorney Zephyr Hill at the helm. With his thorough demeanor and keen eye for talented attorneys, he has facilitated a mirrored growth that Goldberg & Jones has come to expect. Even though each state's law is different, the collective offices of Goldberg Jones have created a synergy, with each benefiting from the other and a clear course charted for continued success.

Goldberg Jones has grown from a three person startup, to a multi-state firm with well more than 20 attorneys devoted solely to the practice of family law, specifically, the representation of husbands and fathers. We believe we correctly saw the need for a man's voice to be heard in family law courts, but we are truly humbled by the continually increasing flow of men who choose to have us be part of their team. We take seriously our obligation to continue to provide the level of service, compassion and results that have made us perhaps the largest firm of its kind catering to men's family law needs. Thank you!.

Well men, Sorry to say this, but they advertise or more accurately pander as an Advocate for Men, but one of their lawyers is currently representing a woman who (This is what the forensic report uncovered) is a complete narcissist and has kept the child from his father, lying to her child that his father was in prison for years, claiming tons of slander, which is rapidly becoming libel thanks to Goldberg Jones bringing it to light in court records, has allowed her son to be beaten by her alcoholic boyfriend, ignored his health tona degree she has no clue he may suffer a massive genetic disorder with no cure, drives intoxicated with her child in the vehicle, forces child to hang around a person whom sexually abused his uncle and committed at minimum sexual battery on the child himself. Only to tell him to " Understand how the boys brain works!" This is no BS, is on record with multiple agencies. Oh and the lawyer in question files paperwork after hearings happen that you should have!

Jones emailed me a memorandum for the court date witch was the wrong date i emailed him back for correct date no response.I called the clerk myself for correct date he came to court with estimates and nothing for my defence then tried to cut a deal with wife attorney witch was not in my favor i fired him witch put me in bad standing with Judge Maalik Summer .I retained another attorney at the next hearing Judge Maalik S Summer previously Judge Miranda S Summer stated because i fired Jones and did accept wife attorneys deal wife was granted full settlement witch has put me in a financial disadvantage.

Goldberg Jones, unfortunately it is mission impossible to get a hold of Phillip D. Jones once he got your money. I've left voice-mail, left a message with front desk for several days in a row with no response. Thank you for the experience Phill.

Hank, made personal travel plans on my hearing date that had been scheduled over four months in advance. This ultimately led to rushed, impulsive, and costly decisions to be made at the 11th hour in an effort to avoid a hearing (which we were unprepared for) and requiring me to concede to concessions I was not satisfied with; as well as absorb excessive, unnecessary, and surprised monetary hits near the very end of my case (in excess of $3,000) which could have easily been avoided if there was greater proactivity, participation, and assertiveness from my attorney earlier in the process. I received limited or fractured bits of legal advice through the process, leading me to feel ill-informed and lost. Understanding that family law is a tricky business, and that Hank is a good person, but given my experience Hank Pailet would not receive my recommendation as a solid family law attorney.

If being treated with respect and feeling like your attorney has your best interest in mind matter to you, do not use her firm. I read countless email chains that left me appalled at the unprofessionalism that was displayed throughout the duration of my family’s case. I can say from experience that she will threaten to drop your case when the going gets tough instead of fight for you. They may advertise that they are “divorce lawyers for men” but from our experience, she will give you bad legal advice, suck your account dry and at the end you’ll have zero to show for it. If you use this firm and think Trisha Webb will fight for you, you’ve been warned. 0% custody after working with Trisha Webb for 10 months, listening to her legal advice the whole way and $30K gone. At some point I found her advice and behaviors so shocking I contacted the Oregon State Bar to ensure that she was an OSB active member.

Imagine your anxiously awaiting the trial decision and you find out your attorney gets the results eight days before he informs you. You receive a bill from him where he bills you for speaking to the judge and his viewing of the divorce papers that he neglected to inform you of but bills you for. Brad Gerke is capable but was only interested in maximizing his billing and doing great damage to me personally. Avoid this firm and check out ethically firm that will not lie to you Sherwood Family Law
