Does my time from before i was married to today , (after marriage) count twards accelerating out process?

Mark J. Curley
Answered by attorney Mark J. Curley (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Curley Immigration Law, PC LLO
As you probably know, when you got married, the first application that your father filed for you was automatically revoked.  There are no permanent visa categories for married children of residents.  When your father naturalized and filed a new application for you, it was in the category for married children of citizens.  The only way for you to retain your earlier priority date is if the same petitioner (your father) filed an application for the same beneficiary (you) in the same visa category.  Since your current application was filed in a different visa category, you cannot retain your old priority date.   Please contact an experienced local attorney for more information.

If you are a US citizen and your fiancé entered the country legally, you can sponsor him for his green card after you marry him.

How long does it take for interview to be scheduled after finger printing?

Answered by attorney Bruce A. Coane (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Coane & Associates, PLLC
In Houston, usually 1-2 months, and the green card about 2-6 weeks after the interview if all goes well. A social security number and work permit are not automatic. You must file forms at appropriate places to get those items.
