Hiring the McShane Firm without finding and reading all their hidden, negative reviews was the stupidest and most expensive mistake I have ever made. Hiring a competent lawyer willing to clean up their mess is proving difficult and when they ask me who my previous lawyer was and I tell them McShane they act like it is not the first time they've heard this. They have a terrible reputation among other law firms and now I know why. Attorneys Katherine McShane and Scott Zeigler should be disbarred. Either way, they will have to answer to the Bar, because I haven't spoken to a single lawyer who thinks I should not file a complaint. They give the entire profession a black eye.

My opinion of this law firm is that you should save your money and look elsewhere. I wish I had read all the other negative reviews on other sites before hiring them or I would not have done so. They don't follow through on their pleadings or their promises and their word means nothing. They file motions that are never ruled on, then quit. They missed important deadlines and end up costing more money than they are paid. A waste of time and money!

Working with this law firm was a bigger nightmare than was being falsely charged with a crime. They are very efficient at taking your money and padding the bill while dragging the case out so you have time to pay. You almost never get to talk to the lawyer involved and the paralegal I dealt with was horrible, sending wrong info constantly, including dates, times, courtroom numbers and more. What little information I could glean about the status of my case was usually false. More times than not, was told they were going to do/file something with the court but they never followed through. Had to hire another lawyer to clean up the McShane Firm's mess.

Horrible! Ask them to file a motion for early termination of probation. Takes two months. Even after being told Tim was on it.

Had a friend pay 4000.00 to get help with a situation. The law firm took the money and did absolutely nothing. Don't believe the good reviews. He wrote a 1 star review on AVVO . Subsequently, they charged him another 3000.00 and sent it directly to a collection agency for breach of confidentiality. They did not even contact him first. Very unprofessional money hungry lawyers. Worse than the criminals. Very unprofessional. Avoid this group!!

They will not help you with your legal problems and as in my case they will likely end up COSTING you more money. I had to spend an extra day in jail and paid an extra $1000 for THEIR mistake!! To add insult to injury, they tried to charge me $500 for the no show that was THEIR fault. They hide their charges until after you've already paid for their initial services.
