DUI conviction is punishable by a maximum of 1 year in jail and a $5,000 Fine, plus loss of license for a minimum of 90 days, the requirement for high risk insurance ($150% higher than normal premiums), possible installation of an interlock in your car for a one year period AFTER you become eligible to drive again.

Typically it is felonies, not misdemeanors. So, I think you are fine to add firearms to your alcohol issues.
