If my boyfriend has a harassment charge from 2 years ago, can he get this removed from his record?

Answered by attorney Marshall S. Tauber
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Offices of Marshall S. Tauber
The law in Michigan is that a person with a criminal record of ONE, qualifying, conviction can apply to have that ONE conviction removed from his/her criminal history through an order of Expungement after the five year anniversary of the date of conviction. In your boyfriend's case, if he has no other convictions, he will have to wait 3 more yrs.before he is eligible to file for expungement.

Will I be able to be a teacher with a felony theft on my record?

Answered by attorney Lawrence Thomas Lewis (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Lawrence Lewis, P.C.
Probably not, because most administrations will not want to deal with the headache of explaining why they have a convicted felony teaching children. Oh but wait, it is not a conviction. Parents don't care, it sounds like a conviction. The charges were not dismissed because a jury said not guilty. Everyone will see it on your record.

How much time would my son get for a probation violation?

Answered by attorney Robert Jason De Groot (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at R. Jason de Groot, P.A.
The maximum would be the rest of the probationary period in jail. You should hire private counsel to represent him.
