At Hartsell & Williams Attorneys, P.A., our story is about people, not just dates on a timeline. It began in 1896 when Luther Thompson Hartsell opened a small practice in Concord above Johnston’s Furniture Store. Soon, his son joined him, and the firm grew—moving offices, welcoming new partners, and establishing a lasting presence in the community, including becoming one of the first tenants of the Cabarrus Bank Building in 1924. Decades later, John Hugh Williams and his Duke classmates Brice Willeford and John Boger formed Williams, Willeford, and Boger in 1962, creating another highly regarded Concord firm known for strong trial work. Over time, both firms changed and expanded, always keeping the focus on quality representation and practical solutions. Eventually, the decision was made to come together, combining experience, talent, and shared values under one name. Today, Hartsell & Williams Attorneys, P.A. is proud of its deep roots in Cabarrus County and honored to help clients navigate everything from life planning to life’s unexpected challenges.
