I paid Attorney Robert Spaugh $3600 for one Grandchild and $3600 for my second Grandchild. My first Grandchild we did not work on because DSS was called on my daughter as soon as she had her second. We had to work on the second first. When I tell you this has been a headache $3600 down the drain, my daughter lost custody of her child all because Attorney Spaugh goes behind our back and work with DSS. All through this case phone calls were being ignored up until it was time for court. Never kept us on to what was going on with the case. Did not put any witnesses on the stand, he was agreeing with everything DSS said. I went to go get all documentation on my on. I was emailing the information to him for what nothing was presented to the judge in our favor. My daughter was wrongfully accused of things she did not do. He allowed these accusations to go through. We had know fight. DSS got us real good while both parties thought it was funny. I want my $3600 back for my First Grandson.
Before you call this attorney do a basic google search. This lawyer has had multiple board complaints due to his refusal to respond or do the job he was hired for. He ghosted me and that was when I found out.
Not sure what I regret more, attempting to use Mr. Spaugh or waiting too long to warn the public about him.He was referred by 2 family friends & truly wish we would've done more research on him.Sincerely feel as if he took our money, ran & took advantage of being our 1st lawyer. The lack of communication was horrific, His unprofessionalism in attempting to "represent" us in court was beyond embarrassing.Do your research & trust your gut when it comes to others representing your children & life.
DO NOT HIRE this attorney, we paid him way more than his retainer fee to represent my husband and still have yet after 3 years to get a final hearing on child custody, child visitation, and child support. My husband's and his daughter's relationship has suffered alienation due to the lack of services that where already paid for in advance. He has also been reprimanded by the Bar Association for not rendering services that he was paid for and for lack of motivation on his part on another case.
I used Robert Spaugh for a divorce case, I paid him upfront for services, Mr. Spaugh repeatedly ask me how much money I had in my bank account,(I though he needed this for the court)he kept billing me monthly for his services. Robert Spaugh charged me every time my ex-wife would call him.(Lawyers are not suppose to talk with their clients ex-wife except through their lawyers.)after paying almost $10,000.00 in 2 years to Robert Spaugh I fired him , I got a new lawyer for $2500.00 and won my case
