About Jonathan W. McConnell

Jon McConnell was inspired to pursue law because of an inherent need to help others. His father is a pastor, and Jon knew at an early age that he would either follow in his father's footsteps or become a defense attorney. However, Jon feels the most reward when he protects someone who is at the lowest point of their lives. They don't have a friend in the world and have nowhere else to turn. Helping others brings out the best in Jon. In order to do the most good, Jon fulfilled his calling by becoming an attorney. Jon doesn't pass judgment on people. His job is to protect clients when it seems that everyone else is against them.

Jon has a successful and proven track record as a defense attorney. He has taught criminal justice at WSU, served as an Assistant District Attorney under Nola Foulston, and successfully prosecuted the first passenger DUI case in the State of Kansas. Jon likes challenging situations, and uses aggressive and bold tactics to defend the rights of his clients. While he maintains some traditional norms of the legal field, Jon employs a fresh and modern approach to an ancient craft. Jon McConnell's practice is located in the historic Scottish Rite Temple in downtown Wichita, KS. We retained Jon(Jon W McConnell Law Firm) on my son’s behalf in April of 2019. My son had been wrongly accused and was facing felony charges that could have resulted in prison time. Until the incident with my son I had always believed ‘innocent until proven guilty’, but that is not the way the legal system works or it didn’t in his case. We had to find someone who would do battle for him; Jon was the answer to this family’s prayers! We will always be grateful to him, Taylor, and the staff for their time, effort, and search for the truth! Jon found a way to defend my son, and it gave us all hope! He was determined to get the best possible results and as we left court yesterday I was reminded of what he had said to me earlier last year, “I told you I would take care of him”.
