About one year ago I hired Mr. Gately. I have not regretted the decision. He has gone above and beyond to help me with my case. "Jack" was invaluable in my medical retirement proceedings, following my illness and injury in Iraq. He had my case prepared early in the process and while I was in activated National Guard status, his efforts resulted in my being approved for medical retirement with active benefits. He instructed me on how to gather my case information and he kept certain overly-zealous command staff officers from interfering with my case. His work also simultaneously prepared my case for action by the VA once I left active duty. I referred him to several additional Soldiers who were on medical hold.v with me. The active JAG who was going to take my case, contacted me just a week before my formal hearing, so had I used him vs. Jack, I would have been lost. Jack is a superb attorney and a great guy!

I approached several lawyers to see if I needed any help to spruce up my response to the Board for the Correction of Naval Records. Other lawyers agreed to look at my response and my case, but I had to pay up front just to see if they might help. But as I had done most of the work and had the documents, John charged me only 1/2 his normal fee to craft a better response.
