Have a workers comp case. Was told would discuss case, tell me if offer was reasonable and If they thought they could make more after I received initial offer from WC. However when I called back after initial settlement offer I was brushed off. Informed I wasn’t told that and they were too busy for my case. Would refer me to another law firm and not represent me. Then get email saying if I do go with the firm that I would have to sign paper saying B&C were my lawyers along with who was referred to. This was for a case requiring multiple surgeries without dispute for blame. I would recommend finding someone else before they decide they aren’t interested.
This dragged on for 4 years, went through 3 different lawyers, ending with XX, the only one I ever spoke with. I met him for the 2nd time at my deposition in Feb,, 2012. He told me afterward that the defendant had a really credible witness (implying I’m not credible) & said he'd see what he could do to settle the claim instead of going to court; $18,934.79 is what I got from a settlement of $35,000. I should have settled on my own with Zurich Insurance, when I could have used the money more.
The lawyer would never return any calls he left it up to his paralegal. It took 2.5 years to complete this process with multiple interviews being done by me and not the guy who had hit me. The lawyer would always change his mind and appointments with me so I would lose work time and then not have an appointment
Very slow with responding to my concerns. Didn't keep timely appointments possibly because too many clients and not enough lawyers in the firm to keep up with the clientele
I hired brown and crouppen for a personal injury case. my attorney (Jim cantalin)did not communicate with me at all about the case. I had to call over a 3 month period to see what was going on with my case there was no urgency at all. After a number was reached I told him no that I didn't think it was fair he refused to go back and negotiate. He didn't want to file a lawsuit. Even though the case was cut and dry. I would not RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BROWN AND CROUPPEN.
Just got a letter stating they were not going to take my case. I never talked to this company or given them details. Don't know how they got any information or why they would contact me. I would never use an ambulance chasing service.
This Lawyer is a con & should be disbarred he inserted himself into my husbands wrongful death lawsuit via my sister - no investigation into my husbands death that I witnessed he specifically looked at my own umbrella insurance policy ( he was ran over in our front yard ) is the only investigating he did after stating no stone would be left in turned no toxicology or anything he is so powerful apparently that he arranged a fake judgement with Judge Ed Page against me in Jefferson County Mo - look it up on case net it is all there in black & white
This lawyer / law firm came to my home 2 days following my husband get killed, took $500,000 of my Umbrella Insurance, saying I signed a contract ( I did not ) with no investigation into his death, it went to traffic court in Jefferson County,MO I DO NOT RECOMMEND them, I was not entitled to due process or funeral expenses or anything , Joe Frank should be disbarred from practicing law so this does not happen to anyone else! He clearly looked at my own insurance policy & that was it - slam dunk for him & devastating to me
DO NOT RETAIN!!! VERY SLOPPY WORK!!! I just now filed a complaint with the Law Association. Don't be lured into these fancy dancy TV commercials! It was a mess and I regret even picking up the phone to call them. Incorrect papers being sent with false injuries. Insurance papers not being completed. Unprofessional attitudes, and miscommunication which means no notes were taken for accuracy. They ignored my request to be copied in on everything this resulted in me not knowing where the case went or what had been done. Issue after issue over and over again. I called one morning on a Saturday just to leave a message thinking that my phone call would be returned on Monday and my attorney reamed me as if I had committed a crime. She was so rude! Goodbye and good riddance!
Very quick to return phone call to get our business, but after we signed the paperwork they were wouldn't return phones calls or emails. For what we paid them, we could have done the work ourselves.
