Jacoby & Meyers Bankruptcy Law

We hired Jacoby and Myers on july of 2013, they rushed us to get the money, and kept asking us for the same information. On December 2013, they sent us a mail asking us to give 'em the application fee and again the same information we gave em several times already. Then in the same correpondence they let us know that they are no longer taking care of our case but another firm. We've been calling that number for a month now without no call return. So frustrated. FRUSTRATING !!!!!!!

The individual lawyers in the firm seemed more interested in their weekend or vacation plans than they did in helping. They seemed to be more concerned about taking on as many clients as they could as if they were being paid on a commission basis. They were unprepared for court and made themselves look incompetent by not having all the information the judge asked for at hand. They sent all of their paperwork out to their home office in another state to be completed which took extra weeks.

We had to travel to three different locations to get all of our meetings in. We finally got what we wanted, but had to travel several hundred miles and we had to fax the same information several times and they never received it. We faxed the same information to different offices per request, Some forms promised to me I never received.

We used this firm to file for bankruptcy. They have changed attorneys working on our case several times so we never know who we are working with. It has been a nightmare to get anyone to return a phone call or answer questions. Our case was close to being dismissed by the trustee because our attorney(s) didn't file important paperwork. I would never recommend them to anyone and wish we had never signed a contract with them.

They took money out of my account after I had already paid in full, and gave me a hassle about getting my money back to me. It caused my back account to be over drawn and I still haven't seen the money for that. I returned my paper work in a timely manner, but they are trying to say that it took over a week to get to them. It has been almost a week since they have received my paper work, but it still hasn't been filed. I don't know if they need any further info or not, they have not contacted me

I think there service was horrible. There customer service department didn't know anything also you got a different story every time you called.

Lack of communication is my biggest complaint about legal helpers. We were pretty much just treated like a number. We are still trying to get filed. The lack of one on one time with an actual lawyer and the failure to fully explain all of our options to us has turned this experience into one major headache. The lack of personable, knowledgable service in the long run is going to wind up costing us more financially then if we would have hired a private attorney.

They go through lawyers faster then I can change my underwear. You begin with one person, they leave the firm, another takes over, then another and another and so on. Nobody has answers for you and nobody calls you back. You have a question or want to speak to someone on a weekend? Too bad, nobody is there to answer your call although it's an 800 number and they supposedly have people 24/7 available. When you do get someone, they are rude and cannot help you anyway.

Provided less than expected services and failed to notify me of process being pursued by mortgage company in a timely manner; was late during scheduled time to meet with bankruptcy judge. Had to call several times before talking to assigned lawyer and was switched lawyers twice. Lawyer was not present during one court appearance and made contact with mortgage company lawyer by myself; lawyer from Legal Helpers showed up after court time.

I as very disappointed with the service I received (Didn't). I had to keep calling them and reminding them of what was going on with my case. Their office representatives did not follow through with their promises.
