There seemed to be a problem communicating with them by mail to get the paperwork filled out and submitted. Other than that, their level of concern for me as a person and level of professionalism were excellent.
Communication was sub-par.
I believe that the problem was not so much with the firm, as it was that particular lawyer.
My phone calls were not returned. Each time I called no one knew who I was. The lawyer did not try to get my weekly checks reinstated. When I wanted to settle after being released from the doctor the lawyer just kept trying to get more money. You might think this is a good thing but I felt as though I was offered enough. I got my settlement 10 months after I got evicted. The lawyers in this office each have about 600 cases. My lawyer did not ever have time for me.
He doesn't listen to his client or his needs and or concerns .He is very dismissive and only responds when you finally ruffle his feathers in annoyance with you. He has 0 personable skills with his client, very detached and technical replies only, if you can get a reply from him, he rarely will answer all the questions presented to him. He will blame you for "detriment to the case." He has this Do as I say philosophy and that's that mentality and demeanor. He will refuse to answer specific questions and if he does it's more or less do it or else, it's the way it is. This is a very stressful time in my life dealing with this injury and very corrupt workers comp system in illinois. He's been my attorney since 2021 only because my first attorney passed away. Ryan is the exact opposite of that attorney who cared and was highly involved and more personable with his client. He's aware of my grievances with 0 cares to try and fix it. I would not recommend or of hired him had i of known.
I'm writing this review only to provide clarity of anyone's expectations regarding this firm and especially Ryan Meikamp. I've read other reviews across the internet and he definitely gets a mixed bag of reviews. My former attorney passed away, thus I've been forced ultimately to take up other representation, Ryan has had my case since July of 2021, and he is the exact opposite of my first attorney who unfortunately past away. I sincerely wish my 1st attorney was still alive as he was personable, friendly, checked on me, walked me through what needed accomplished, always available for phone and or email correspondence and just all-round showed empathy and or compassion for my injury situation. Ryan is the exact opposite at least in my experience thus far... HERES MY MAIN ISSUES WITH him 1. He don't listen to his client or his needs and
no work done and results the same.... poor
