Leikin, Ingber & Winters, P.C. is a law firm with an office in Southfield, MI. At this office location, there are 3 lawyers.
Everything they do is underhanded. They give no warning or try to work with you, they go straight to sueing you for payment. Set up a payment plan, through the court, they accept, I make payments. The next thing I know I'm getting court notices for garnishment of tax returns, they claim I've made no payments. I have proof!!! Won't return phone calls or respond to mailed correspondence. I can't afford a lawyer. These people are scum.
Straight up FDCPA violators of the worst kind. After stating the mini miranda and telling me they are collecting a debt I began explaining my dispute and was then told "oh no we are the law firm we don't deal with disputes or anything" as to say we don't follow the fdcpa we aren't debt collectors but the must state the kind miranda and identify themselves as debt collectors. Rest assured, I reported them to the federal trade commision.
My experience with this attorney was negative, the staff is rude and they lack communication skills, once on the phone with Susan L Winters herself, I came to the realization that she doesn't set the bar high when it comes to manners, empathy, listening, communication and resolution. A well educated individual has manners, Susan L Winters demonstrates the opposite, in any field a cordial conversation is encouraged to reach resolution but this attorney lacks work ethics.
I have had 3 garnishment payments taken from my paycheck in last 3 weeks. but it seems you haven't received any of them.
So, I "owe" money to this law firm and had tried to start paying by phone like I was told to back in December 2016. When I did all the prompts to pay by phone it sent mecto a voicemail box that stated was "not in service". Ever since have been paying online and haven't had an issue until last week. This week I called the lawfirm to see what happened, the lady was extremely rude and said why I was paying online. I told her why and that I haven't had any issues. So I tried paying by phone/same.
Very poor follow through. Doesn't keep accurate records and blames other staff for wrong information.
