About John H Schmidt

The founder of the Law Offices of John Schmidt & Associates PLLC, John has a personal devotion to help struggling families. The happiness and welfare of clients are extremely important to John, which is why he stresses that clients come to healthy solutions in their cases. John grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, and put himself through college and graduate school at the University of Kentucky. Later, he completed the Six Six Sigma Green and Lean programs at Villanova University and worked as a special education teacher, prosecutor, turn-around executive and consultant before going into private practice. He is very active with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and other charities, which have come to influence his view on how he practices law. Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease that causes mucus to be thicker than normal. The thicker mucus causes issues in the pancreas, lungs and digestive tract. As this was my first time needing a lawyer, I was nervous and unsure what to expect. John never hesitated to answer my questions and explain them more than once if I was confused. He led me through my divorce process with confidence and reassurance. John was kind, yet direct and talked me through all of the logistics to ensure the results were in line with what I wanted and deserved. Though my divorce was uncontested, I have no doubt John would have exceeded my expectations had we gone to court. Thank you for your help in one of the biggest life changing experiences I’ve had. A legendary attorney that fought hard on my case and did what was almost impossible. To put in some context, I have been a dad who wasn't by biology. I hired John to handle my case after the biological mother took away our child. He got me through a hard time and got me parental rights to my baby girl whom I have been raising for years. I can't thank him enough. I hope to share the story about him and his associates one day.

I am currently over 8yrs sober; with that being said I have had my fair share of court cases and have used many lawyers and PDs. Basically I can tell by how an attorney walks into a court room, the degree of suffering the courts will attempt to put me through. John is easily the best attorney I have ever worked with. He's a shark in the courts and not afraid to BLUNTLY tell you, your mistakes and exactly how to start repairing them. I've met much more expensive attorney's that will accomplish far less. If he says something, he means it, and his word is his bond. He will defend you, your children, or your family as if you are his own. In the past 3yrs of using his services, I've even watched this man have a brutal surgery, and still be on time to my court date. I could never adequately express the gratitude I have for this man, his paralegals, all the way down to his receptionists. They saved, changed, and improved my life because you're not just a $ to him and he will protect you nmw.

My fiance was in an auto accident due to a medical emergency he was having. He was given a citation and a court date at the hospital by the police. We assumed with the proper medical records to prove the accident was due to a medical issue it would all be over. Well that was not the case. After meeting with the D.A. he stated because of a "new law" in Kentucky he would have to be set for a pre-trial in the criminal courts. We sat down after given the above information waiting to get a new court date, I paid attention to how the attorneys who were there conversed with the D.A., Assistant D.A. Bailiff, and Judge. I noticed Mr Schmidt and the above people mentioned seemed to have mutual respect for one another. We went straight to his office after receiving the "pre trial" date and hired him. He was able to get the case dismissed without my fiance even stepping foot back in the courtroom. Thank you John Schmidt!

I have known John for years and consider him a good friend. I referred a friend of mine to him and he dropped what he was doing to take on her case! I was impressed by this alone not to mention he finalized the divorce in 10 days! I know my way around a courtroom and this is unheard of.
