Baskin & Grant, LLP is a law firm established in 1979 with an office in Santa Cruz, CA. At this office location, there are 6 lawyers practicing litigation and dispute resolution, business, corporate and taxation law and 9 other areas of law.
My case was small and Caleb treated me and the case seriously.
Being told that the attorney (Baskin) needs to concentrate during trail, and that I can not have questions or conversation during that time, and as such, we miss the opportunity to cross examine a witness. I feel that it shows extremely poor preparation for my case.
On July 17, 2009 I told Melinda Bailey that I was afraid I would not recognize Mr. Baskin in court on July 21, 2009 since I had no idea what he looked like. On July 21, 2009 Mr. Baskin appeared in court totally unprepared even though, between the 9th of July 09 and the 20th, I had send him 29 e-mails, photos and had dropped off a video at 8:15 am, on July 20, 2009. It took $300,000 and 5years to clear up the mess Mr. Baskin created.
Caleb Baskin used me as a cash cow by having me deposit a $7500 retainer. He violated Model Rule 1.5 "learning on client's time". The items he reviewed were res-judicata; I paid $3,105 for having my documents reviewed. In May 09 I hired him again, another $7500 was deposited, he did nothing; his response to having a malicious restraining order filed against me was "Winging It";he never communicated with me, phoned me or planned a defense strategy with me, I was afraid I would not recognize him.
