Hired Attorney

I retained Taryn Evans for a high-asset divorce in Salt Lake City and paid over $300,000 in attorney fees, not including about $30,000 in expert costs. My case involved significant assets, including paid-off real estate and business interests. Ultimately, I received a minority portion of the estate, no alimony, and 40% parent-time, despite being the primary caregiver throughout the marriage. During the judicial settlement conference, I felt unprepared and unsupported, receiving minimal strategic guidance. Ms. Evans changed firms during the case, increased her hourly rate, and transparency around billing and engagement agreements felt limited. At one point, I was advised a motion could be filed to challenge the settlement, which new counsel confirmed was unlikely. After switching attorneys, I experienced much better communication, strategy, and motion practice. I recommend anyone in a complex divorce seek multiple consultations and clear fee agreements.

Hired Attorney

He was the most incompetent attorney I have ever come in contact with. I would never use that firm again and I discourage anyone I ever talk to about attorneys to stay away from that firm.
