With more than 30 years of experience, Paul Barden focuses his practice on two areas where the stakes are high: representing clients seriously injured by negligence or misconduct, and defending licensed health care professionals in disciplinary proceedings before New York’s Office of Professional Discipline and Office of Professional Medical Conduct. Paul’s interest in medical-legal cases started in the Army, where he served as a Judge Advocate with the Army Claims Service. In that role, he supervised and adjudicated medical malpractice, motor vehicle, and other injury claims across multiple claims offices and states, receiving deep training in claim investigation, injury evaluation, and tort analysis. A month-long program inside a military health facility confirmed that this was the work he wanted to do. After active duty, Paul returned to Rochester and joined McConville, Considine, Cooman and Morin, PC, where he led the personal injury department for years and later served as managing partner. He continued in the Army Reserves until retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2013. In 2019, Paul joined Paramount Settlement Planning to advise attorneys on structured settlements, lien resolution, and complex settlement planning. In 2020, he returned to hands-on representation as a sole practitioner, intentionally limiting his caseload so every client at the Law Office of Paul G. Barden, PLLC works directly with him.
