Richard “Trey” Mattox III was born and raised in Richmond Virginia, attending high school at Benedictine before graduating from Monacan. After high school he graduated Cum Laude from Virginia Tech in 2008 where he double majored in History and Political Science and minored in Real Estate. In 2011, he obtained his Juris Doctorate from Appalachian School of Law, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Trey is a third generation attorney proudly following in the footsteps of his Richard Mattox predecessors. Trey is a dedicated trial attorney who defends clients charged with major traffic crimes and infractions. Mr. Mattox frequently defends individuals charged with Reckless Driving, Speeding, DUI, Driving on a Suspended License, Failure to Yield, Hit and Run, Petit Larceny, Assault and Battery, Underage Possession of Alcohol, Eluding, Following too Close, and Failure to Maintain Control. Trey’s familiarity with the courtrooms throughout central Virginia allows him to provide his clients with the best possible outcomes. This familiarity also provides Trey with the opportunity to communicate accurately with his clients in regard to the expected and potential outcomes for their cases. I couldn't be happier with the Mattox Law team. I am a Uber driver and I need all my points on my license. Doing 86/70 on I-95 they were able to keep all my points!

I received a ticket for reckless driving going 85 in a 70. I contacted Mr. Mattox's firm and the team was very courteous and professional. Due to me being a full time student and my first offense, my ticket was reduced to faulty equipment and no points. I am very pleased with the outcome. I would highly recommend Trey Mattox Law Firm.

I would highly recommend Trey Mattox for anyone who must travel through and around VA. As for myself being from out of State at first I was nervous because I felt I was being taken for a ride and going to get scammed as this happens often when you come from out of State.{para}Mr. Mattox office Staff where excellent in reassuring me they where working on my case. I was very pleased with the work they did and their response to my concerns. I now recommend Mr. Mattox to everyone I know.
