Kevin Hopper is known, for his multifaceted expertise as a highly-skilled trial attorney. He knows his stuff. More importantly, Kevin is a compassionate listener. He takes his clients’ needs and concerns and runs through applicable laws and all variables to get to the heart of the matter and establish the best course of action to pursue with dogged determination for achieving the best possible outcome for his client(s).

As a husband and father, Kevin understands the stressful and emotional challenges in domestic cases. Family Law cases are not one size fits all. Each client needs a resolution that is best for them.

He understands the stressful and emotional nature of family law cases and assists his clients on how the work through the trying times and reach the best result for their needs.

Mr. Hopper graduated with his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University in 1993. The following year, Kevin moved to Raleigh in and opened his own practice. He has since practiced at all trial levels in North Carolina in Wake County (and surrounding counties), where he maintains a trial practice with a primary focus in family law and civil litigation. He has extensive experience in complex child custody and support cases, to include matters involving adoption, children with special needs, and/or same-sex parents; alimony and post-separation support, as well as equitable distribution.

While being focused on a trial practice for the past 26 years, Kevin believes that the sooner in the process a resolution may be reached the better it is for the parties to reach some closure. Because of this trial practice and his understanding of likely outcomes, Kevin is able to immediately engage in case resolution using alternate dispute resolution procedures. He does recommend, where appropriate, engaging in mediation before filing suit. However, if the matter cannot be resolved without filing suit, then he will recommend moving to the litigation process, whether through trial or arbitration, where he will be a fearsome advocate for you.

Kevin Hopper encouraged and assisted me to file a civil lawsuit, then when the going got tough and he was put on the line for filing on my behalf, he abandoned me after filing documents that caused me to lose and left me with the worse legal nightmare I could imagine. Although he was "nice" and more "honest" than most attorney's I've known, he took the easy way out for himself instead standing up and fighting for me and my rights, and for that reason, I would not recommend him.

Kevin was not prepared twice when meeting me in the court room. He seemed to try to quickly put together the details while in the court room instead of preparing the information before entering the court. He made me promises that didn’t take place then when I asked him to explain he couldn’t. It seemed to me he was as much on the opposing party’s side. He was very happy to take my money though. Keven then sent me a bill for services never discussed. As a matter of fact I was paid in full before we went to court. He just threw a bill at me hoping it would stick. I do not recommend !!!

Hopper Law firm in my opinion is a joke even though they knew my situation and my location and the location of my divorce proceedings they took the retainer collected minimal information then told me that they couldn't do the divorce because of the 30 minute travel time to Creedmoor NC. 2000.00 dollar retainer and I got nothing other then a separation agreement that wasn't even what we talked about, my names and the other names involved were cut and pasted into an existing document.
