I’m a Vietnam veteran with a service related injury. I first filed for compensation in the early 1970s and was denied. After many years and as my injury got worse I went to the VA again in 2010 and they took an MRI of my injury and told me I had a 10% disability. I was very disappointed with this because I knew my injury was much worse. I finally hired an attorney who specialized in workman’s compensation. After working with him for several years and only able to raise my rating to 20% I reached out to Brett Burke at VA Disability Group in March of 2021 Brett was very encouraging and began delving into my case. Right away he got the VA to award several thousand dollars in back pay because of mistakes they had made. Brett and his team worked on my case, kept me up to date, advised me on how to approach C&P exams, and in less than one year’s time the VA awarded me 100% permanent and total disability, collecting tens of thousands of dollars in back pay in the process.

I had a Board of Veterans' Appeals in less than 1 month, another Law Firm who said they would represent me, backed out at the last minute. I was really desperate, and was going to represent myself, when I reached out to the "VA Disability Group, PLLC" and spoke with Attorney Derek Dee. Derek decided to take on my case, even though he saw a very big challenge and an "Uphill battle". Derek prepared for my case and represented me at the Board of Veterans' Appeals. The Judge, granted my case and sent it back to the VA, and after my Compensation exam, the Judge, Granted Service Connection for my injuries. Derek and his hard-working staff did a thorough evaluation of my newly received Military Service Records (From the 4th Request) and private medical records, and we filed new disability claims. I have recently been granted 70% service connection and filing the necessary Appeals for the disabilities the VA Rater denied. Thanks Derek and VA Disability Group, PLLC.
