Bob Carlson was my parents’ attorney for various needs over the years, and instrumental in providing, trust-worthy, hands-on guidance to my brother and me, as executors of their estates, at very sensitive times for our family.
Brother individual trustee our trusts-he could invest, hire investors change banks holding trusts. Unfortunately died before appointing new individual trustee. Bank therefore usurped individual trusteeship, planned to fire our investors, sell all the stocks and use $ to put us in THEIR mutual funds. Hired Bob, who discovered that bank held trusts in Delaware. He found trust law in Delaware that stated that if trustee died without appointing another, the beneficiaries of the trust could pick a new one IF 60% of them agreed. They chose me. We thus were able to move our trusts to different bank that agreed to accept me as individual trustee, and accept my choices for investors.
