How much should I ask for on my slip and fall personal injury case?

Answered by attorney Paul S Bovarnick
Personal Injury lawyer at Rose, Senders and Bovarnick, LLC
First, I'm sorry about your injury. I know how painful ankle injuries can be, and how hard it can be to recover from them. Second, it is unethical for a lawyer to communicate with a person if that person is represented by a lawyer on that same matter. But even if I could communicate with you about your case, there are far too few facts for me to make a judgment about the value of your claim. You should discuss your concerns with your lawyer, and if you find his or her explanation unsatisfactory, then you should give your lawyer a chance to explain.

I'm looking for a disability lawyer

David B Harrison
Answered by attorney David B Harrison (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Miller & Harrison, LLC
The work injury in the ditch sounds like a workers compensation claim so you should seek out that type of lawyer, as it is a specialized area of the law.  The gunshot is unclear to me when it occured or who shot you so I cannot commnt other than to say there are time periods within which a case has to be brought and depending on when this occured, it may be too late.  As to the police hitting you with a baton, Colorado requires that a notice be sent to the governing body for the place the police work (like to the City Attorney or County commissioners, etc.), within 182 days of the incident before a lawsuit can be brought. There may be a way around that but even then lawsuits have to be brought within certain time periods and in Colorado to sue a police agency I beleive it normally has to be filed within one year of the incident.  BUT you could talk to a civil rights lawyer about that one, to get more specific insights.  Good luck.

Should we go after the first cars insurance to pay 100 percent or the second car to pay the remaining 25?

Answered by attorney Richard B. Copeland (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Law Offices of Richard Copeland, LLC
You might be able to get the first insurance company to pay for the whole bill, but you would probably have better luck getting the insurance companies to split the bill. It is important to realize the insurance companies may have a valid argument that this was an unavoidable accident that was not the responsibility of either of their insureds, in which case you will recover nothing. I recommend taking what settlement you can get.
