Can I be sued for not having proof of insurance at the time of the accident?

No. If the accident was not your fault you aren't liable. If you had insurance at the time of the accident you need to contact your insurance company and they will handle it for you.

My 16 year old son got in an automotive accident a couple of months ago and now the man is taking me to court?

Answered by attorney Kenneth G. Wincorn
Personal Injury lawyer at Law Offices of Kenneth G. Wincorn & Associates, P.C.
You should answer the suit and deny that you are responsible. Be sure to answer quickly as there may be a default judgment if you do not. You are only responsible for the injuries and damage if you allowed him to drive knowing that he should not drive or that he is a negligent or incompetent driver.
