Quite frankly, I will admit. I am extremely frustrated. I was extremely overcharge resulting in over 40K. My opinion of the matter is if Matt and his staff don’t deem you as a ‘slam dunk’ or ‘home run’ of a case, they intentionally overcharge you with little to lo follow up, not fighting for your rights, and quite frankly, just taking your money. Save yourself the time and money. Don’t get into my situation of being taken advantage of because a lawyer is too scared to fight for the truth and justice of their client.
Ask around to anyone familiar with lawyers in Omaha and you’ll learn what a crook this man is. I paid $60k to lose my case and another lawyer easily won after. i have to file bankruptcy because of Matt Higgins and I have 3 children to care for by myself. This firm will spend more time and effort manipulating you as a client than they will working on your case. Hiring Matt Higgins was one of the worst mistakes of my life.
Highly Unprofessional and only cared about how much money he could get from us, which was more than $30,000 instead of preparing for court or doing his job in court. Difficult to reach, arrogant and not interested in what was needed. Our sons whole life depended on this guy to do his job... he let us all down especially my son and grandson.
Communication is horrible wife had court orders several days before I did. Sometimes I would not hear back from him for several days about important issues. Spent 10k+ all together and got nothing except charged for a lot of "back-end office" stuff. Didnt even get to trial only went through a temp hearing before I fired him. Higgins Law was averaging 3-4k a month on what was supposed to be according to Mr. Higgins an "open and shut" case. Would not recommend and beware!
I highly urge you to seek another law office. Higgins Law is very unprofessional and will say anything to get you to sign with them. They will not and do not communicate with you. They will continually ask for more and more money. I have heard the same story from others after the fact of me giving them my money (this is my fault and just hope others do not make the same mistake). The highlight is Matt sends me a letter stating he will no longer represent me after I told him my concerns. I called
