Downard & Associates is a law firm established in 2003 with an office in Murfreesboro, TN. At this office location, there is 1 lawyer practicing social security disability and (ssi), personal injury/car wrecks, medical malpractice and 2 other areas of law.
Downard and Associates was very good at doing whatever they did to win my case. I was not kept in the loop as things went along. My case worker responded every time I called. I was told messages would be sent to my disability examiner in response to my questions and concerns. I was not always updated as to information received by my case manager. They helped me with filling out the required forms. They won my case, but to be honest, I'm not sure how much they did to win the case. My case worker was very respectful and patient with me every time we spoke. As for there fee, that is set by SSA Disability law.
They have been very helpful in appealing my disability, however reaching them is sometimes next to impossible.
They assigned a lawyer and a paralegal to my case. It was easy to get in touch both of these individuals. The paralegal on my case understood my situation better than the lawyer, but the lawyer was very sympathetic. This is a good firm and I would recommend them to anyone who required their particular legal specialty.
They do not keep me updated very well in what they are doing on my behalf for obtaining information or getting closer to obtaining disability. They have never interviewed me face to face to hear my side of the story or to help me obtain medical information to prove my disability.
I hired this firm for my social security disability claim. My attorney set my court date, I only talked to him once over the phone, and I was in front of the judge for about 2 minutes and i was approved. It costs me $6,000.00 for one phone call and 2 minutes.
He was hard to speak to, didn't stay in contact with me. Though he eventually won the case it could have been resolved much sooner.
Fought hard for my wife's benefits.
