Leave a review about your experience with this lawyer. My wife and I highly recommend John L. Roberts. He managed the sale of our house in Easthampton, MA. He was on top of everything. He made certain that the few things that we had to take care of were taken care. On several occasions, when it looked like I'd forgotten the due date for something, I got a call and an email. Attorney Roberts is thorough. What tasks he was responsible for were attended to. The process for us was a breeze. He also helped us develop a trust. He's good at that too.
When a family member passed away without a will, Atty. Roberts handled all aspects of her estate (court appointing me her personal representative, real estate sale, payoff of all debts including local, state and federal taxes, etc.). I live out of town and we were able to handle most things by email/phone/fax, preventing me from needing to travel most of the time. I do not hesitate to recommend Atty. Roberts to anyone who needs help settling an estate.
We needed to transfer a family member’s Massachusetts Guardianship to Connecticut. Attorney Roberts prepared the documents the first day I met with him, and he met with the Hampden County Probate Court personnel and filed the necessary documents that same day. The transfer process was completed properly and efficiently. In addition, I found Attorney Roberts extremely knowledgeable and very client focused. He always kept me informed of the status of the issue, and retuned phone calls promptly.
My brother needed nursing home care after he had a severe stroke. I call Attorney Roberts, and he explained how Medicaid could begin paying the nursing home as soon as my brother's assets were organized to comply with the Medicaid regulations. He prepared a report showing me what we needed to do. One week after I hired him Attorney Robert delivered the Application to the Medicaid office. The application was approved, retroactive to the day my brother's complied with Medicaid regulations.
I was extremely impressed with Attorney Roberts skills across many areas. He met with our elderly relatives and explained all aspects of the work he could do for them with various options for them to consider. He was extremely meticulous and truly an expert across all aspects of our work with him. I highly recommend Attorney Roberts and our accountant, the social workers and all of our family members were very pleased with his work.
When my mom got ill she was in need of a nursing home care. Attorney Roberts prepared my Mother's Medicaid application which allowed my father to keep all income He also prepared the Power of Attorney and Deed that allowed my father to keep all assets. Attorney Roberts set up an Estate Plan for my Father When my father passed Attorney Roberts handled the real estate closing that closed out my father's estate. I highly recommend him working with him as he will make your process smooth.
Attorney Roberts was my lawyer who helped me through my home buying process in spring of 2018. Throughout the weeks leading up to the sale of the property, he was thorough and helpful in every way. As a new home buyer, I felt comfortable in coming to him for any questions regarding the home buying process. Roberts was very reliable and anything needing my attention was quickly brought to me physically or digitally. I highly recommend him working with him as he will make your process smooth.
Attorney Roberts worked with me on the estate of a Connecticut resident who intended to leave money for the Supplemental Needs of his disabled daughter, but the Testamentary Trust signed by the deceased was ambiguous. Attorney Roberts prepared the Memorandum we needed to show the Probate Court to get the Trust reformed. Attorney Roberts explained the family’s options for Supplemental Needs planning, and they chose an option that was accepted by the Probate Court.
I served as Trustee for a Living Trust and called Attorney Roberts to terminate the Trust. Attorney Roberts prepared a Trust Distribution Plan that complied with the Trust document and the Massachusetts Uniform Trust Code. He reviewed the Trust income and assets and put the figures into a format used by the Probate Court, so that the beneficiaries could easily understand how the assets we managed and distributed. He also worked directly with our CPA to finalize the tax returns.
I contacted attorney Roberts about my mom when she moved to assisted living for her dementia. We worked out a plan, got started on Aid and Attendance, That along with other help, allowed her to stay in that facility. two years. When she finally needed full nursing care, I contacted Attorney Roberts about starting the mass health process. We moved quickly. I felt like I was at the top of his priorities, and communicated very frequently. Went smooth, beat expectations.
