Scott McMillan has been a licensed California attorney since February of 2001. He was raised in San Diego, California. He became an attorney after recognizing the limited availability of attorneys who provide litigation services to small businesses and individuals.
Prior to becoming an attorney Scott McMillan operated a computer distribution business which he founded at the age of nineteen. While operating the computer business, Scott McMillan attended the University of California at San Diego, and obtained a B.A. in Mathematics. Scott McMillan was later joined in the business by his father James I. McMillan, and brother Shawn McMillan. Together, they operated the computer business for sixteen years. At the height of that company's success, the distribution business employed 29 employees and had a gross revenue of $9,000,000 per year. While operating the distribution business, Scott McMillan attended law school at night. After graduating he took and passed the California bar exam on his first attempt.
Scott McMillan has litigated fifteen civil jury trials in California and United States District Courts, the shortest being three days and the lengthiest being seven weeks. The trials involved a variety of different matters including business disputes involving oral contracts, contracts for employment, leases on real property, violations of California's wage and hour law, competitor claims of antitrust and false advertising violations, and individuals' claims of police misconduct. Most recently, Scott McMillan obtained a $962,000 verdict after an eight day jury trial, which included an award of punitive damages.
Scott McMillan is familiar with appellate practice, and entitled to practice in all California Court of Appeal as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has successfully brought or responded to a number of appeals and petitions for extraordinary relief.
Scott McMillan has repeatedly demonstrated a willingness and ability to accept engagements involving complex litigation, with rapidly evolving facts, scheduled for expedited resolution.
Scott McMillan presently resides in El Cajon, California, with his wife Rebeca and three children.
Customhouse Broker, Department of the Treasury.

Leave a review about your experience with this lawyer.I consulted with Scott McMillan on possible litigation. I was very impressed with his knowledge, and the time he took to explain matters to me. He presented to me as a caring individual who tries to help others. I would definitely use him, and refer him to others.
I needed a second opinion on my case and spoke with Mr. McMillan in a free consult. He immediately grasped the issues and explained the risks and shared relevant case histories if I pursued it further. He candidly advised against doing so, and I'm taking his advice.

I was having so much trouble finding a lawyer that was willing to take on my case. I had gone through two lawyers and they took my money but did nothing for me. I got in contact with Scott through a friend's recommendation and he took me under his wing. He took on my case and gave me confidence that we could beat my case. I was being sued by a company and Scott (being the amazing lawyer that he is) found out that they were actually committing fruad!! The company had been out of business for year
I was involved in a property dispute that quickly turned into nightmare and left me stressed and in despair. I was in need of legal help when I went to meet Scott and asked him to represent me. From the first meeting with Scott and his team I knew I was in good hands. Scott is incredibly smart, experienced, professional attorney who cares for his clients. During the case he was honest with me and kept me well informed. Scott is competent, diligent and very effective. I recommend Scott.
I met Scott while serving on a jury. Based on this, when I needed legal advice on an employment law issue I turned to Scott. He worked with me to understand the case, what my rights are and what actions where available for me to take. I retained Scott to represent me and he worked my case to a successful conclusion. I highly recommend Scott and The McMillan Law Firm to be your legal advocate.
Mr. McMillan always responds immediately to my inquiries, he's honest and straight-forward, and extremely tenacious in dealing with the games of other lawyers. The two other attorneys in his office, Evan Kalooky and Michael Healy, are also very diligent and reliable. Together they create a very competent and effective law firm. Mr. McMillan has successfully represented me in two cases so far, and I highly recommend The McMillan Law Firm.
I found Scott McMillan online. The McMillan Law Firm expressed familiarity with my questions and in the area that I needed help in. Scott McMillan was as portrayed on the website, so I hired him to help me. Over the course of three years, I worked quite a bit with Scott McMillan, Evan Kalooky, and the associates and staff. I always felt that the McMillan Law Firm was completely invested in my case and doing their very best to achieve a good result for me. I would again hire Scott McMillan.
Scott and his staff are professional, courteous, knowledgeable, well versed in the law, and at home in the courtroom. They give 100 percent of their efforts to helping their clients. I recommend them to any who are in need of an ethical and honest law firm with commitment and dedication to their clients.
We hired Scott McMillan (and his associates) to represent our bond positions in various complex corporate bankruptcies. In the proceedings Scott was extremely persistent in making sure our voice was heard. Scott's filings were thorough and aggressive. All of his colleagues gave us the attention that we required. I wouldn't't hesitate to recommend the McMillan Law Firm to any buy-side firm looking for cost-efficient representation.
