How can i obtain paperwork to obtain original united states citizenship issued prior to my service in the military

Answered by attorney Alan Lee
Immigration lawyer at Alan Lee Arthur Lee, Attorneys at Law
If you are able to remember details on your naturalization certificate, you or your lawyers can apply for an N-565 Application for Replacement Naturalization Document. Without specific information, it would be very difficult to fill out the application with an assurance that USCIS would be able to issue a replacement document. For purposes of sponsoring a family member, the law firm will also be able to use a copy of your US passport in lieu thereof. If I get married to a person which is not in the US, will that affect my application process?

Immigration lawyer at Francis John Cowhig
If you are asking whether your marriage to someone from another country will affect your naturalization process, the answer is no. You can marry anyone you want, in any country you want and still apply for naturalization. Just remember to answer any questions regarding your marital status honestly.

Should I take my husband's name when my work permit is up for renewal?

Answered by attorney Myron Russell Morales (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Quan Law Group, PLLC
You can make the change when you renew the work permit or when you file the adjustment of status. Be sure to include a copy of your marriage certificate. The adjustment through your US citizen spouse should be done through an attorney.
