Can a US customs deny a person from seeing legal counsel?

An alien seeking admission has no legal rights to be represented by counsel. Legal representation right exits only after admission in any subsequent proceedings.

What should I do if I am trying to live with my boyfriend who doesnt have papers yet?

Answered by attorney Lynne Rogers Feldman
Immigration lawyer at Feldman Feldman Associates, PC
You do not need to go into the details of your boyfriend's immigration status with your landlord. The landlord will want to know you and he are creditworthy and will pay the rent. See what the landlord requires and go from there. You may need to have a co-sponsor. (I had to co-sign for my kids' first apartments until they had a long enough work history.)

What problem will i encounter if i am a Naturalized Citizen with felony record reentering the country if i travel overseas?

Answered by attorney Alan Lee
Immigration lawyer at Alan Lee Arthur Lee, Attorneys at Law
The question is whether you had the felony prior to becoming a U. S. citizen or afterwards. If the latter, such would not affect your admissibility to the U. S. If the former, the question would be whether you disclosed the felony on your N-400 application for citizenship. If you did and U.S.C.I.S. still granted you the citizenship, you would be OK even though you might have an uncomfortable time at the port of entry while Customs and Border Protection officers attempt to go through your immigration history. If you did not, you would be removable and most likely sent to the immigration court for removal proceedings.
