Your question requires an attorney consultation. It is not a simple question that can be answered on this type of forum. There are many factors that would need to be considered and evaluated. The short answer is that it might. I strongly suggest that you contact an experienced immigration attorney for a face-to-face consultation and give him/her all of the facts surrounding your situation. He/she would then be in a better position to analyze your case and advise you of your options.

It seems that you have your answer. Give it a shot if not, look for a family member or friend to assist. Don't be afraid to ask.

Does the time of having the L1 count in starting the green card process?

Answered by attorney Lynne Rogers Feldman
Immigration lawyer at Feldman Feldman Associates, PC
Yes you need to start before the end of the 5th year (counting H-1B and L time) and be sure to allow enough time for recruitment before you file so figure at year 4 and ? to start the green card at the latest (You are allowed to start sooner if your employer is willing.)
