Wife in US illegally. Married more than 11 years.

Answered by attorney Harun Kazmi

Hi. You may subject her to removal/deportation if you file the I-485. There are some exceptions for military or if she had a prior I-130 filed before 04/2001. Thus, you should be very careful if you proceed to file concurrently. I would need  more information about her history to better advise.

What can happen if a permanent resident has warrants out for their arrest?

Answered by attorney Eric M. Mark
Immigration lawyer at The Law Office of Eric M. Mark
ICE could place an immigration hold on you. If you are not convicted, nothing will happen. If you are convicted, you could face removal proceedings and loss of your permanent residence. You need a criminal defense lawyer and an immigration lawyer.

How can I bring my husband back so I can take care of him?

Answered by attorney Lynne Rogers Feldman
Immigration lawyer at Feldman Feldman Associates, PC
Unless he has a criminal record, has previously been deported or overstayed in the U.S. and then returned this is a straightforward process of you petitioning for him and his processing overseas at the consulate in Ciudad Juarez.
