Can I get a sponsor to file the affidavit of support? Do I need to fill out a separate I-864 for my husband?

Answered by attorney Phong Thanh Tran (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Law Office of Pho Ethan Tran, PLLC
Although your husband is unemployed, he still has to complete and submit an I-864 affidavit of support along with all the supporting documents. You will also need one or more joint sponsors to meet the minimum poverty guideline. The joint sponsors also need to complete and submit an I-864.

Can my husband lose his permanet residence if we divorce?

Answered by attorney Richard Stephan Kolomejec (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Richard S. Kolomejec
It depends whether he has a conditional green card or permanent. If conditional, then he will have to prove his marriage was genuine before his green card expires. If permanent, then he doesn't have to do anything.
