About Mr. Andrew Daniel Butzen

Mr. Butzen is dedicated to advocating for employees and their rights. He has extensive experience representing employees in Court and in arbitration in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and other employment-related claims. On a day-to-day basis, Mr. Butzen handles all aspects of employment ligation – including client intake, drafting complaints, crafting discovery, obtaining and enforcing discovery orders, attending and arguing hearings, taking and defending depositions, mediation, negotiating settlement, and preparing cases for trial.

Mr. Butzen’s relentless approach as a litigator has contributed to obtaining multiple favorable settlements for Cummings & Franck clients, including settlements in the seven figures. Mr. Butzen received his J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law. Mr. Butzen excelled in law school, graduating in the Top 3% of his class. Mr. Butzen also received five CALI awards for the top grade in his class. Mr. Butzen was the Editor-in-Chief for the UIC Review of Intellectual Property Law and served on the Executive Board of the Moot Court Program.

Prior to law school, Mr. Butzen was a decorated classical guitarist; receiving a master’s in music from the renowned Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California. Mr. Butzen obtained his undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University.

The zealous advocacy Mr. Butzen displays for his clients originates back to his time as an undergraduate at Loyola Marymount University, where he devoted more than 400+ hours of his time to serving those experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles.

Mr. Butzen is married and lives in Pasadena. When he isn’t practicing law, Mr. Butzen is an avid reader of history and plays in an adult baseball league in Los Angeles.
