Virga Law Office left me paying my former spouse 50% of my military retirement in addition to $1950.00 permanent alimony per month. That means I will pay until I die. In addition, I had to take all debt from the marriage, and pay for her car. This was all based on my income of $65,000.00 a year. Now with her job and what I have to pay her every month, she makes more than I do. Mr. Virga said if I didn't agree to this, I would have to pay $20,000 more in legal fees + a year of back alimony.
Beyond disappointing for over 20 years experience. She can be bought. Zero communication. Zero follow-up on promises. Non-existent attorney, I paid for a ghost and we lost everything to the boys club who fills her pockets. Best legal advice- run.
David Lohr failed critically to uphold his duty as an attorney by not having a competent conflict checking system. I should have been represented. I was notified two hours prior to the actual hearing that David would be withdrawing from the case. He made the mistake of consulting with my ex-wife and her husband two weeks prior the hearing. The judge would not issue a continuance for the hearing. I was at a huge disadvantage and the outcome has been a complete detriment to my efforts to protect my son and his situation. I am not convinced he had to withdraw. I was in David's office during the Zoom hearing. He exited the room when the magistrate said she would not issue a continuance and wouldn't even bring me a cup of water. Communication after paying the $1900 retainer was extremely limited. Simple questions about date and specifics for the hearing went unanswered for six weeks. I had to call the main office and request support to ask about my hearing date.
Do NOT hire the Virga Law firm in Panama City Beach, FL! Besides not getting the result we were hoping for, the bigger issues we experienced were lack of communication, lack of professionalism, lack of respect for our time as clients, lack of movement on the case without having to stay on top of them, and disregard for us as clients in terms of what the outcome of the case meant to us. Oh, and as soon as you get your ruling, they are done with you. Don't expect to have a follow-on discussion to ask your questions or to get help interpreting the decision.
