How do I go about changing the name of my legal guardian on my will?

You could do a codicil. Why don't you call the attorney that did it originally and see if you can't get a deal on the price.

What kind of lawyer specializes with estates and estate distribution?

Answered by attorney Terry Lynn Garrett
Estate Planning lawyer at The Garrett Law Firm, PLLC
If you are an heir or beneficiary, the probate lawyer has no obligation or right to share information with you.  You can see a copy of everything filed with the court by contacting the clerk of the probate court.  Many counties have these documents on line.  Please keep in mind that estates often are not distributed for over a year to allow for payment of the final federal income taxes and any other creditors.

What do we do as their children to claim some type of ownership to this property?

Depending on who passed first, it would be either your father's or uncle's to pass to their heirs either by will or intestate. But the estates would need to be probated.
