I would like to cancel the sale and keep the boat, can I cancel the sale?

Answered by attorney Jayne L. Sebby (Unclaimed Profile)
Estate Planning lawyer at Jayne L. Sebby
As you have a check from the purchaser, a contract has been established for the sale of the boat. You can back out and return the check but the buyer would have the option of petitioning the court to enforce the sale.

If our house is solely in my husband's name, in the event of his death, will the house automatically go to me, his wife?

Answered by attorney David L. Leon
Estate Planning lawyer at David L. Leon, P.C.
The answer depends on whether or not the house is community or separate property, and whether or not there are children. If you want to be sure, have him prepare a will.
