Sloppy and non thorough answer. Absolutely LIED!!! She asked for my answers/proof of certain things and then completely replied with whatever answer was fastest at the time for her to complete that paperwork. Also she did not let me review her answers before submitting.
DO NOT hire Tillman as your lawyer. Me and my husband hired her in June and fired her in October. No work had been done in that amount of time. She offers a “free” consultation, but when you hire her there is a 350$ fee that’s non-refundable. Essentially your consultation fee. I recorded 23 calls to her office, and none of them were answered.. none returned. My husband and I emailed her continuously for 4/5 months expressing our concern with her level of communication. She blamed us for not providing paperwork for her to continue. Truth was that she was so wrapped up in her own personal drama that she either ignored us or forgot about us. After talking to multiple lawyers we found out that she never filed an entry into our case. She offered us 5,000$ as a refund, which honestly was insulting. Again we only received less than 14 emails from her within 4/5 months. It wasn’t until I told her I would file a complaint with the board that she was more than willing compromise. DO NOT HIRE.
We used this practice several years ago for a land purchase and was very pleased. I now need a probate lawyer for a simple estate. I left my info on their contact us portion on their website. No response. I called the office. Receptionist seemed like I was bothering her by asking for a consultation. She was short with me and I had to hastily tell her the reason for appointment. She promised that she or the lawyer would get back to me as soon as possible. No response. Very very disappointed in the service I received. If they didn’t want to take my case, all they could have done was say so. Definitely not what I expected from a small town law firm
Took my money did nothing for my case and wouldn’t give an itemized invoice of where my money went. Had a appointment on Wednesday told me we had to start from the beginning with divorce process wanted another $3500 Monday of the next showed up at her office with money and all paper work she needed. Then was told she couldn’t continue with my case because she was to exhausted drop me as a client. Left me hanging in the worst possible situation. When she knew I needed an emergency hearing because what I was going thru. Was my lawyer since December 2019 I will be making a complaint against her.
She took my money and neglected me for more than 3 years. She was supposed to do my divorce, but never did and so now I am stuck in a really bad situation. She promised to refund my money but never did. Horrible experience.
I'm a man who was getting a divorce and used Edie Tillman as my attorney. She seemed very empathetic with my situation. But after the initial Financial documents were given there was very little communication. I emailed her, I sent text messages, I called her office, left messages and she very rarely returned my call. After 3 weeks with no response from her I decided to get a new attorney. The day that she transferred my files to my new attorney I was notified by her that I had a court date in 3 days for failure to comply. This was the first notification I received from Ms Tillman about a court date or that I had not provided documents. I thought I had produced all documents which in the end turned out that I had given the documents to Ms Tillman. The documents requested were in the box that miss Tillman delivered to my new attorney. This cost me an additional $1,700.42. It was completely her fault for not turning over the remaining documents requested. I would definitely not recommend
