What can I do if I missed a court date but I was only the passenger not the driver?

Answered by attorney Nathaniel D Shafer
DUI/DWI lawyer at Natty Shafer Law
Most judges will withdraw a bench warrant if you make an appearance in court. Show up on the 26th, and explain the situation. If you are nervous, hire a lawyer to help you.

What if I was arrested for a DUI by an officer in training?

Answered by attorney Laurie A. Schmidt
DUI/DWI lawyer at 5280 Law Group
Then you will be prosecuted for DUI in the county that you were arrested in. Just because the arresting officer was in training status does not mean that your case will be dismissed, especially if the supervising officer was right there. Retaining a competent DUI lawyer in the local area of the arrest now ensures that your rights and/or any potential defenses are preserved.

What can I do if I missed a court date but I was only the passenger not the driver?

Hudson Thomas Bair
Answered by attorney Hudson Thomas Bair (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Kapsack & Bair, LLP
If you had a court date, regardless of whether you were the passenger, you have been provided notice of pending charges. If you failed to appear at that court date the Judge may have issued a warrant for your arrest. You need to call the court and find out whether you have a warrant and then contact a lawyer to determine what can be done to defend the charges.
