Can requirements for getting your license back after a DUI go void?

J Matthew Catchick
Answered by attorney J Matthew Catchick (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Catchick Law, P.C.
In order to get his driver license restored, your dad will have to prove at least one year of total sobriety, as well as verified attendance in a "structured support group. " The only support group I know of that is both well-recognized and free is AA. While it is possible for your dad to get his license restored without documented AA attendance, it will be VERY hard. Your dad should consult with an Attorney who concentrates in driver license restoration law to assist him. If he loses the hearing, he will have to wait an entire year before requesting another one.

If I'm going to plead guilty to a DUI, do I need an attorney?

Answered by attorney Patrick Owen Earl
DUI/DWI lawyer at Patrick O. Earl
In my opinion it is crazy to represent yourself on any criminal matter. If you don't have the money to hire an attorney apply for a court appointed attorney.? They are great lawyers. Don't do this on your own.

If I showed evidence that drinking a bottle of beer is prescribed to me by my doctor, will the police drop my DUI?

Randy M Lish
Answered by attorney Randy M Lish (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Randy M. Lish, Attorney at Law
The problem is not that you drank the beer, the problem is that you drank the beer, and then drove a car while intoxicated. The doctor's prescription does not say that this is ok. Also, one bottle of beer will not raise your BAC to the level that it is illegal to drive.
