What is the basis for buying out my husband's share of our house for a divorce?

Robert Joseph Merlin
Answered by attorney Robert Joseph Merlin (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Robert J. Merlin, P.A.
I do not understand your question. Buying out his interest in the house is a financial issue, although there could be emotional ties to it as well. If you have children and they are mostly staying with you, Florida law presumes that it is in the children's best interest for them to continue living in the house. maybe you can use that argument.

It sounds like your attorney thinks you are being unreasonable or you are not paying him or both. So, you need to find another local attorney to handle your case or file all of the necessary pleadings your self.

What legal step should I make if the state child support portal wants me to pay even if I already paid directly to my ex-wife?

You need to talk with the child support people in person. Bring all of the pertinent cancelled checks with you. And start paying through the state immediately. If the child support agency won't help you, then you may need to get a local attorney to help you sort it out.
