If my soon to be ex-spouse filed joint income tax return with out my consent, what can I do?

Answered by attorney John F Brennan (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Musilli Brennan Associates, PLLC
You need to speak with an attorney and or accountant. If you had no income it would be financially very unwise to file married separately as it will increase the taxes, and diminish the marital estate. That is clearly not in your interest, you should counsel with an attorney and get going, it will not get any easier.

If a couple gets married in one state does state law where they live apply in the divorce?

The law where the parties are living is the only law that matters. Where the couple married has no significance.

How do I file a civil union divorce for gay couple who are living in different states?

Answered by attorney Robert Jason De Groot (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at R. Jason de Groot, P.A.
This is a very complicated area of the law and is ever changing. The place to file, if possible, would most likely be where they last resided together. What you need to do is actually go see an attorney, face to face.
