Does it look better or help your case turning yourself in and will they still set you an immediate court date in Colorado?

Answered by attorney Jonathan S. Willett
Criminal Law lawyer at Jonathan S. Willett Attorney at Law
Yes, it looks better if you turn yourself in. Frequently, they set a bond amount on a warrant so you may be able to bond out with a bondsman or the bond money right away. So, there maybe a bond set in your case already. If not, some courts may accept an ad on case if you want to turn yourself in, but you have to go the clerk's office first thing in the morning before court starts. Some jurisdictions do not have that procedure. If there is no bond and no add on procedure, you can contact a lawyer, who may be able to set up a court appearance to set bond when you turn yourself in. If none of these options are available, it usually means a night in jail.

Can I have my father's caregiver arrested if he is a drug felon?

Cynthia Russell Henley

Can't you and your sibling come an agreement to fire this person immediately - take her key and trespass warn bar and not let her take anything out of the house with her? That would be best.

How likely is the judge to grant the continuance on the day of court?

Answered by attorney Jason William Savela
Criminal Law lawyer at The Savela Law Firm, P.C.
Unless the case is really old, more time should be given. But, if you are just set for entry of plea, the worst the judge will do is set it for trial in about 3-4 months. If the case is set for trial in a few days, then there is more of a problem.
