How can I go to court for arraignment if I have no attorney?

Answered by attorney Laurie A. Schmidt
Criminal Law lawyer at 5280 Law Group
You must appear at court. If you fail to appear a bench warrant will be issued for you arrest. I would start contacting local criminal defense attorneys in your area if you want an attorney to defend you in this manner. If you cannot afford an attorney, you may qualify for the services of the public defenders office. You must go to court and ask to apply.

Dismissal of felony charges due to technicality

David B Harrison
Answered by attorney David B Harrison (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Miller & Harrison, LLC
If the fact that the driver's license number is not yours shows it was not you that tried to cash the check, of course that can lead to dismissal. However, banks normally have video and other evidence that would help "prove" who tried to cash the check.  The driver's license number alone being two digits off is not sufficient by itself to lead to dismissal of the case, unless it is the ONLY evidence in the case (which seems unlikley to me). .

What happens if I was caught stealing for the second time?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
Depends on the county, judge and DA. Also depends on how much and when your prior was. Both of your options are available in Harris County.
