This is a tough one. You cannot do anything about it now. If you change your story, of course the DA will not believe it and will tell you that it is perjury. You may want to hire a lawyer and figure a strategy to deal with this. If you do not testify, and if there is no transcripts, it is unlikely for the DA to get a conviction.

this will be charged as domestic violence if reported it will cost a bunch of money and the only thing they will do to try to help him stop this behavior is make him take DV classes he can take DV classes without the courts involvement - he can also take anger management classes - OR he can get involved in individual therapy - most health insurance plans cover 30 visits to a psychologist per year I would speak with him at a time when he is calm and reasonable. I would ask him if he would be willing to get some help so that he does not punch walls. There are studies that say children will repeat this behavior when they get older, so him getting help will help his kids be better people. If this sounds dangerous, then maybe you need to have a friend or family member present during this conversation. It is best if he can find a way to say, yes, I want help. Friends, family and church can all be of help during these times. The goal is not to fight or argue, it is to find a better way to deal with these bad moments. I want you and your kids to be safe. Please make sure that above all, you keep safe.
