If I was driving without car insurance and I got arrested do the police office need to read me my rights and if they don't can they still ask me?

The issue of rights reading only come into okay if she made a confession. Her confession can't be used against her if she wasn't aware of her right to remain silent.

What should I do on my first court hearing?

Answered by attorney Andrea Rogers (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at The Rogers Law Firm
You need to hire an attorney to represent you. Do not expect the prosecutor to voluntarily give you a deal. The prosecutor's job is to convict you. Your attorney can negotiate a plea bargain with the prosecutor and you might not even have to appear in court. This depends on which court this is in. My experience is in the St. Louis area courts, where shoplifting charges frequently get reduced to "Littering."

When the defendant is bound over and held, are they in jail until the next court hearing?

It depends. If he was originally released on bail or OR release, the bail or OR release should stand. If he was not released, then he will remain in jail until either he posts bail or the case is decided.
