What is the least amount of jail time my son can serve for an armed robbery charge?

Answered by attorney Laurie A. Schmidt
Criminal Law lawyer at 5280 Law Group
In Colorado, there are determinate (known) and indeterminate (unknown) time periods in sentencing. If your son was sentenced to a maximum of thirty years for armed robbery - the question that you are asking is when would he be eligible for parole. Depending on the charges he was convicted of aggravated robbery - which is a class 3 felony; he would be required to serve at least the midpoint of the presumptive sentencing range. It would be best to look at the sentencing paperwork from the court.

How do I get charges dismissed for Failure to register/Sex Offender?

Answered by attorney Lawrence Thomas Lewis (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Lawrence Lewis, P.C.
I do not suspect that law enforcement is going to provide protection for you. You minimize your involvement in criminal activity, but I can read between the lines. You are on bond for a drug offense. If you have no felony convictions, then you purchasing a gun is your protection. You don't get to be involved with drugs, and then cry foul and ask for witness protection. As for your charges being dismissed that is a separate issue you decided to smash together with this initial issue. Your attorney should resolve your issues in court via a hearing.
