How long will it take to get a warrant lifted?

Jared Clayton Austin
Answered by attorney Jared Clayton Austin (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Austin Legal Services, PLC
Warrants are valid until and only if they are quashed by the court. It is up to the prosecutor to drop the charges. The complaining witness can voice their opinion and encourage the prosecutor to do so, but in the end it is the call of the DA's office. If the prosecutor ends up dismissing the criminal charges, then the case will be dismissed against you. If there is a warrant out for your arrest, I would suggest consulting with an attorney and consider turning yourself in if there is a case pending against you. That is the only way the matter will ever get resolved.

How can I make a deal so I won't have to pay anything?

Thomas J Tomko

Your goal is so unlikely and unreasonable that I have serious doubts that it will ever happen. In the rarest of situations, a Judge could give community service in lieu of a fine, or jail in lieu of a fine. Other than that, its not going to happen. Sorry, but this is the honest response.

You will need a good trial lawyer. Most lawyers, including myself offer free consultations. Discuss the details in private and not on a public forum.
