Pender & Coward A Professional Corporation is a law firm established in 1889 with an office in Chesapeake, VA. At this office location, there are 3 lawyers practicing alternative dispute resolution, banking and financial institutions, business law and 25 other areas of law.
I have worked with attorneys from the top ten firms in the US for more than 20 years. In that time I have not met a better lawyer than Mark. His knowledge and skills as a General Corporate Counsel are on par with top attorneys who have many more years of experience. Mark's ethics are unsurpassed. As a client I was always made to feel like my matter was the most important matter he was working on. As a litigator Mark is a tremendous advocate for his clients. I wouldn't trade Mark for anyone.
Every individual, lawyer or otherwise, has been professional, timely, and helpful to me as a client during some very stressful periods of my life.
I have used Pender & Coward for years for all of my corporate and personal needs. Their team of lawyers are second to none. They are a bit pricey, but you will undoubtedly receive a high level of excellence with their representation. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
The attorney I was dealing with it this firm dropped me as a client when I needed them the most! I asked them to file some paperwork with the courts and they responded to me that they were no longer my attorneys!
We were both shocked and in awe, not in a flattering sense, that a reputative firm and experienced legal staff should require four (4) FULL eight (8) hours days to compose a templated simple will and trust. A brief (within a maximum of 15 minutes) initial conversation with Atty. Byler, thirteen (13) to/from correspondence with Robyn, secretary and less than one (1) hour meet/greet and sign with Atty. Johnson, hardly constitutes this amount of time. Per their invoice, that would equate to 2.5 hours each day, with noted discussion. We don’t have that much in total assets. When the "Draft" documents were emailed to us, I had to send back corrections to include ANOTHER PERSON'S NAME throughout the documents and incorrect information regarding specifically requested will instructions that were noted in our exploratory paperwork. Needless to say, we would never use this Firm again. They are extremely expensive for the quality and serve we received!
